Abrigo Giovanni - Inverno Passito

Taste the Story

In the glass, the wine reveals a luminous golden yellow color with amber reflections, its bright, viscous appearance immediately hinting at depth and concentration. The nose opens with expressive aromas of dried figs and dates, followed by subtle layers of Mediterranean aromatic herbs and delicate notes of acacia honey. On the palate, it is ample and enveloping, with a harmonious balance between sweetness and vibrant acidity. The texture is rich yet dynamic, leading to a long, persistent finish that continues to evolve with time, gaining complexity year after year.

This wine is an exclusive interpretation of a sweet Piedmontese style, crafted from 100% Favorita and produced only in the finest vintages. South and south-west facing vineyards at 340 meters above sea level provide ideal conditions for partial on-vine overripening, followed by gentle withering in small crates without forced drying. Vinification begins with direct pressing of the whole withered grapes and a slow, low-temperature fermentation, preserving both aromatic intensity and freshness. Ageing on the fine lees in tank enhances texture and harmony, resulting in a wine of elegance, depth, and remarkable balance.

Perfect for lingering moments at the end of a meal, it pairs beautifully with blue and mature cheeses, desserts, pastries, and chocolate.
