Taste the Story
In the glass, this wine shows a vibrant ruby-red color. On the nose, it reveals an intriguing interplay of spicy and herbal notes, beautifully balanced by hints of dried fruit and caramel. As the wine opens up, its authentic and rustic character becomes increasingly evident.
On the palate, the wine is structured and expressive, with pronounced freshness and firm yet ripe tannins. The extended skin contact of at least eight days adds depth, texture, and a high concentration of polyphenols, resulting in a wine of power and personality without sacrificing drinkability.
This refermented wine, made with its own native yeasts, is a traditional expression of Piacenza. The blend of 40% Croatina and 60% Barbera, sourced from vines grown on clay-loam soils, delivers a characterful yet approachable wine. Highly versatile at the table, it pairs especially well with meat dishes and cured meats, where its lively acidity and structure truly shine.
