Taste the Story
In the glass, Rio Lupo shows a bright straw-yellow color with a lively appearance. The bouquet is layered and expressive, offering aromas of yellow-fleshed fruit, aromatic herbs, and honey, complemented by subtle musky notes that add depth and complexity.
On the palate, the wine is intense yet harmonious, with a soft, rounded entry balanced by freshness and a savory, mineral edge. Extended aging on the fine lees contributes texture and structure, while the finish remains refreshing and inviting.
Rio Lupo is a pure expression of its terroir: old vines aged between 60 and 90 years, rooted in sandy, rocky soils rich in silt and Pliocene fossils, situated at elevations of 250 to 300 meters in the hills surrounding Piacenza. The wine is produced entirely according to certified organic practices, with hand harvesting, spontaneous fermentation using native yeasts, long fermentations, and no filtration or fining. An authentic and characterful white wine that beautifully unites tradition and natural elegance.
