Taste the Story
In the glass, Carbonauta displays a bright ruby-red color with light transparency and youthful violet highlights. The nose is immediately open and expressive, bursting with fresh cherry, wild strawberry, and red currant aromas, complemented by delicate floral notes of violet and rose petals. A subtle, slightly candied nuance hints at the carbonic maceration, adding an extra layer of charm.
On the palate, the wine is juicy and playful, driven by lively, thirst-quenching acidity and silky, almost imperceptible tannins. The fruit expression is pure and crunchy, with a gentle touch of spice and a refreshing energy that carries through from the first sip to the last. The finish is clean and cool, marked by a fine bitterness of cherry pit and a lingering floral, perfumed lift.
Carbonauta is an uncomplicated yet characterful red wine, made from 100% Ciliegiolo using carbonic maceration. This vinification highlights fruit, freshness, and drinkability, inviting the wine to be enjoyed slightly chilled. The whale on the label playfully references the marine origins of the soils around Piacenza and mirrors the wine’s light, floating expression.
